Tool #11

I truly liked being exposed and learning about some of the free internet based services.  Thank you for creating Google Apps which gave me the tools for product creation.  Tool 5 was creatively put together and easily accessed to teach me the different internet based services.  I used BOOKR this summer in summer school with my students.  The students used this website to create a online book using FLICKR photos.  I was able to refer back to TOOL #5 and review how to teach this to the students, even though many knew.  It was a resource to refer back to and was a great motivation to the students.  I will model life long learning and hope for creative learning in my classroom.

I enjoyed learning about 11 tools.... I wish  for a website that has all, many, internet based free websites ALL in one page.  I know at Northbrook Middle School our students will continue to grow in regards to learning and I as their teacher will enjoy continous learning for myself and with the kids. Go Northbrook Middle School.. the best employees ever.. !!! and of course super students!!!

Tool #10

I agree that digital citizenship teaches children to learn about right and wrong when using the internet.  School should be a place for respect and a student should know that when using school property and learning for their future, there should be no place for anything, but etiquette.  My goal is to make sure the student stays on task whenever they use any digital device.  I agree with a post that a person wrote that our students are so use to going to google.  Our school pays for the library resource page and I want to teach my students to use this website more and to go to more edu. websites.  Students will also learn about Creative Commons licenses.  In addition, I wish for parents to learn more about student etiquette.  If you look on facebook, so many students are NOT using etiquette and this could have lasting effects when it comes to getting employment, acceptance for higher level school, etc.  The district should have ongoing classes for parents.

Tool #9

I will make sure the student takes on the responsibility to choose wisely their web 2.0 tools  as they integrate the TEKS being taught to them to their own learning.  The technology opportunity is to increase their learning.  As I teach the students the inteneded objective during the 9 wees, the students will have the opportunity to use the web 2. 0 tools if related to the area being taught. Cosketch is used for making blogs and sharing ideas.  Students can do this on their phone, laptop, share ideas with one another, it is like having their own whiteboard.   FLOCKDRAW gives students the chance to see unlimited users drawings for sharing ideas. These tools let students be in charge of their own learning and enable to make choices.

Tool #8

In my classroom, when the IPAD is being used by a group, the others will be creating their project whether it be research, etc.  In each class, one student will be in charge of getting the IPAD out the others will know who that person is.  I will have substitute students in case one is absent. The classmates will know who is in charge of the IPAD per class.
1.  I have learned that the IPAD is extremely easy to operate.
2.  I have enjoyed seeing that having an IPAD in one's hand is like reading a book, which I so cool.
3. I have loved seeing people reading a on line novel on their IPAD.
4. It is like a video and camera and so lightweight.

Tool #7

During semester 2 my students will be doing a persuasive piece and produce a public service announcement. The student will design a logo, write a persuasive advertisement to promote their product.  The student will have options to design their advertisement after teacher shows them examples from magazines, movie trailers, ads from famous companies on the activeboard.  We will share with Ms Cluiss's class our creations. Student will use animoto.
